When you sit cross-legged in a yogasana, the body’s first response is shooting pain and discomfort.
However, when you hold this asana for a few seconds, the body relaxes. Like grains of salt in water, the pain and the discomfort gradually dissolves into a feeling of normalcy. Your breathing normalizes, your body is at peace and your mind is now ready to meditate.
When we stetch for a goal, the first few moments are the most painful and uncomfortable. If you can persist through them, it only gets better with time.
