Even if you’re battling a life crisis, the standard response is ‘I am fine, thank you’, ‘I’m good’, or ‘I’m well’.
This response has turned automatic – as reflexive as it is for raising our knee when it is knocked on by a mallet.
But what if we answered it honestly? What if told the asker about our busy week, about something we are looking forward to, or a problem we’re currently battling?
What if, instead of spitting out a numb response, we use it as an opportunity to connect?
