The nature of reality makes it far easier to lose momentum than gather momentum.
I have written more than 1200 daily entries on this blog. On some days, I draft multiple posts and schedule them beforehand. On others, when I am unable to write, I rely on my stockpile. As long as I write everyday, I am able to sustain my rhythm. However, I have noticed how even if break the habit for one day, it is difficult to regain my lost momentum.
In effect, one day’s break does much more to destroy a habit than a day’s work sustains it.
