Hardship and joy

A hard day’s labour is the softest pillow. Five busy weekdays help us savour a leisurely weekend. A handful of hectic months add meaning to a vacation.

Lips parched from an arduous midday trek best appreciate a drink of cold water. Nothing helps us luxuriate in the warm embrace of a clear spring day like the windy and barren chills of winter.

Hardship and joy aren’t antonyms. Divorcing one from the other hollows them both out.
