Reflections on journals

How does it feel like to be perfectly listened to, without any addition, subtraction, misinterpretation or any other distortion?

Paper, virtual or real, is a perfect listener. Paper has no conditioning or filter to judge or misinterpret what the writer feels. The extent of the writing’s authenticity is determined simply by the extent of the writer’s own honesty.

This is why people across the centuries wrote journals. A journal functions like a mirror. While the mirror captures our superficial details, a journal captures the essence of what lies deeper – our thoughts, our feelings and our beliefs.

A journal captures our reflections.
